Welcome to the year of action for the Rocky Mountain District! If you attended District Convention this year, I’m sure you heard Governor Chuck talk about 2007-2008 being a “year of action.” This is a year of change, and not just talking about change, but actually taking action and making it happen. Chuck has asked me to head the Kiwanis Next Advisory Committee. All Kiwanis members age 35 and younger are invited to participate.
The Kiwanis Next Advisory Committee will provide input to the Rocky Mountain District board of directors to assist the board in making decisions to promote the goals of the district, and to promote our vision of being the premier service organization in our region and the best district in Kiwanis International. Some areas we would like your opinion on are the areas of community service, education, communication, service leadership programs, membership growth, support of district and international programs and administrative issues.
I understand that between family, work, social activities and all you do for your Kiwanis clubs your time is valuable and limited. The time commitment for this committee is not a lot. Most dialogue between committee members will take place via online message boards, and you can choose to be involved as little or as much as you like. We are the future of Kiwanis, and I believe that we can spark the change that will take this organization to the next level.
